The Plum-ed Banner
(We are the Prince of Wales)

The plum-ed banner in the east, behind the master’s chair
Displayed on all occasions, when Masons gather here

This banner born of history, this token proud and true

Is looked upon with reverence, by those that wear the blue.

This emblem of our brotherhood, with crest of plumage grand
This revered treasure raised aloft, “for royalty does stand”
This token of our history, this messenger of the past
Is carried forth with dignity, with mighty shadow cast.

Emblazed thereon beneath the crown, beneath the plumage proud,
We find two simple words displayed “ich dien” it say’s aloud.

So those that range beneath it, with pride may look upon
The allegory and loyalty, that eminates there from
And may it ever take its place, where Masonry prevails
Proclaiming to all gathered, we are The Prince of Wales.
