Charity
Charity is a cornerstone of Freemasonry.

Within the Lodge in the last year we have:

Worked with masons from other lodges to try and make
Christmas more pleasant for children attending the Kid'z First
hospital at Middlemore
Provided additional equipment to the Carlson School for
Handicapped Children
Helped with equipment for the new national pre-natal treatment
centre to save the lives of twins at National Women’s Hospital

We join with other English lodges to contribute to the District Charity. The
District Charity undertakes major projects which have included
significant support for the Heart Foundation.

Puppy Walking - The Royal New Zealand Foundation for the Blind
They place around
100 puppies each
year with volunteer
puppy walkers.
Their important role
is to socialise the
young dogs,
introduce them to
situations they will encounter as guide
dogs and provide them with love, care,
and confidence during their first 12
    months of life.
The Lodge has been supporting the

The school is special school for
children with Cerebral Palsy and
similar conditions. It is a regional
school, in that students travel to it from
the greater Auckland region. The
students are verified high or very high
needs.

The school is situated adjacent to
Three Kings School which helps
Carlson students enjoy social and
academic mainstream opportunities.

Children receive therapy in a variety of
ways including individual sessions,
group sessions and ongoing
management in the classroom.

Occupational Therapy enables the
child to develop life skills that will
enhance his/her ability to interact with
society and their environment. Recent
innovations in technology have
enabled children with disabilities to
access computers and communication
devices.

On 9th December, a Christmas party
was held for children then at the
hospital. In addition the freemasons of
Auckland have provided a supply of

Visit to Lodge Discovery No. 8737 Vanuatu

Over the years this Installation has been supported
by a group of English Masons from NZ.  Robin (my
wife) and I were invited to go to Vanuatu to attend
the Installation and to then go to the island of
Tanna to follow up on the hospital equipment the
Prince of Wales Lodge had donated previously.
