| The school is special school for children with Cerebral Palsy and similar conditions. It is a regional school, in that students travel to it from the greater Auckland region. The students are verified high or very high needs. The school is situated adjacent to Three Kings School which helps Carlson students enjoy social and academic mainstream opportunities. Children receive therapy in a variety of ways including individual sessions, group sessions and ongoing management in the classroom. Occupational Therapy enables the child to develop life skills that will enhance his/her ability to interact with society and their environment. Recent innovations in technology have enabled children with disabilities to access computers and communication devices. |

On 6th December 2009, members of the Prince of Wales Lodge joined members of other lodges from across Auckland to put up decorations around the hospital. On 9th December, a Christmas party was held for children then at the hospital. In addition the freemasons of Auckland have provided a supply of presents so all children who are admitted to hospital in December receive a present. |

Over the years this Installation has been supported by a group of English Masons from NZ. Robin (my wife) and I were invited to go to Vanuatu to attend the Installation and to then go to the island of Tanna to follow up on the hospital equipment the Prince of Wales Lodge had donated previously.
